Not exactly. Suppose for the discussion that the difference between the 2 versions is not a bug but some change that you have no idea if it is positive or negative. If you do not know which version to choose and you need to choose only one version for a tournament then I think that it is better idea to choose the winner and not the loser. Maybe there is a misunderstanding in english. For me the meaning was the following: If I need to give an estimate for the new version of shredder then the best estimate is that it is 15-20 elo better than shredder6. It only means that if I have to gamble on 5 elo interval then I will choose 15-20 and not 10-15 or 20-25. Uri
