Ah!, but here is where my idea is at its best & can save everyone money
(Including ChessBase!). Chess Base could make an update file for Mega (for
instance), that would be downloadable and maybe cost $10/$15 dollars (compared
to $50, which is what you pay for the updated CD). Then, even though you are
updating Mega into its current form (This is different then TWIC which should
always remain free), you would save some considerable dough.

I realize that there is an admistrative process required in handling
subscriptions, but it is something that Chess Base already does in requiring
people to send back the previous CD. Also, this way, there is no CD 'To Burn'
(on either side), and I think it 'worth the bother' for a company like Chess
Base, because they can keep track on the server end of the # of times the
material is downloadable. Of course you would only be able to download the
material with your Password & username.

Perhaps there is some intrinsic 'downside' to this idea - But there are always
downsides to new ideas. (and this one is really not even a new idea, just where
or how it is implemented is...)
