I am NOT known to be very patient! I am OK with software (slow but steady) but
usually bad with hardware. I _have_ successfully installed many disk drives
(both fixed and removable) in many computers over the years. However, the only
time I did a motherboard -- I moved it from one case to another (in 1992) -- I
needed extensive telephone support from the people who sold it to me, and I
threw my back out for a month from leaning over the desk working on it while
cradling the phone. So it's a very negative memory! (Admittedly it was
probably harder back then, plus the case had some unique features like a MHz
readout and turbo button to hook up, plus I had ZERO written documentation.)
