 I see that Deep Fritz considers 28.-Rd6 as best. Emanuel didn't
 want to play this move because he estimated the ending as lost after:

 28.Qb3 Rd6 29.Red1 Qb6 30.Qxb6 Rxb6 31.Rd8 Rg8 32.Rc7 Bg6 33.Rxg8+ Kxg8
 34.Rxb7 Rd6 35.Bxg6 hxg6. Black has a pawn less and his king is cut off.
 Instead E took a chance with 28.-Ba4.
