There is a full command-set manual called "crafty.doc", "crafty.ascii" or
"crafty.ps" depending on which version you want...  this has all commands
with detailed explanations.

Yes.  Only the Result tag (PGN header) is used to get the game result.

Yes although I don't know why you would want to go to the trouble to do
that...
