Good Idea:

In German:

King:   K  {"König")
Queen:  D  {"Dame"}
Rook:   T  {"Turm", Tower}
Bishop: L  {"Läufer", Runner}
Knight: S  {"Springer", Jumper or Leaper}
Pawn:   B  {"Bauer", Farmer}

In Russian

King:   Kp  {"Korol")
Queen: F {"Fers"} Not F It looks like a greek Phi (cannot type it)
Rook:   C  {"Slon", Elephant}
Bishop: L  {"Ladja"}
Knight: K  {"Kon", Horse}
Pawn:   P  {"Peschok"}  Not P  It looks like a greek Pi  (read russian P as a R)

Anyone else?
