Subject: Can one ever have too much ram for deep position analysis?-OT

Would I be correct in assuming that at today's prices, if one can afford
4x512MB DDR sdram for deep position analysis, then one can never go wrong with
too much ram using for example, Fritz7? I already understand how things are
different in Blitz--I'm very patient and I don't mind analyzing a single
position for a week! I've looked at the CCC Search Engine to no avail for a
quick answer.

Also, it seems that today, if one is somewhat impatient, one won't go wrong with
a KT266A chipset and an AMD 1800-2000 XP, given that:

a) there's hardly any improvement from the scarcely available KT333 chipset
(yes, I only use my computer for chess analysis), and

b) the 2100 XP is just getting to hot and it has a price premium, and the
newer Claw hammer--well, the assumption is that I'm just too gosh darned
impatient to wait a few weeks...

Am I sorta correct on the above? Thanks for any advice.

The funniest aspect of analyzing one's games is that if one were to wait until
the year 2020 to do this, it could all be done in a microsecond to much higher
standards! What a joke!
