I played Boris 2.5 which was modular, and if I remember correctly the fellow who owned it had bought it in 1980. It was very weak but had some unique features. Also it came with a relatively high price tag at the time. So 1980 was probably the year of the machine. I found it's so-called 1850 rating very amusing:) I'd say about 500 elo;) It also claimed it could solve some mates in 5. I guess only the easist ones!:o) Terry P.S. Who built the Boris Series?
