book random 1 is correct, not book random=1.  this is not needed anyway as
it is the default.

bad idea.  let xboard/winboard supply this when appropriate.

= is ok there.  or not.  "drawscore 50" or "drawscore=50" do the same thing.
The + is not needed

blank line is safe.  exit is not needed.

they mean two different things.  And both are useful even together.  swindle=1
is the default.

* is the same as saying "both won" when building the book.  It should be
avoided.
