Subject: Openings Transpositions and Software Advice wanted

Hello, I recently purchased Chessbase 8 and while happy for the most part i am
annoyed that i don't know how to do one thing. I have collected my games from
ICC into a pgn file and had copied them over to cbh to work on. See I need to do
some Openings work basically i take this game and find out the eco codes, i
sorted the database this way but the difficult part is that since i am not a
GM/IM i need to see where either I left the book, or my opponent and also any
Transpositions. I play Nf3, c4, d4 as White , but i get a whole bunch of
nameless openings D02 D00 etc instead of something like B14 When i Know i am in
a Panov. Also I need to know right off the bat what moves were better and if i
deffered from the mainlines, I need to know what moves to play to get to what
opening. I know A40 Queen Pawn has to get to E11 Catalan somehow, or A10-A39
English. This is my problem, Is there a better way, does anyone have other
advice possibly scratching this in pursuit of a better way of organizing what
openings i play? It's not like i plan on going crazy, i am aware that there's
more important things to chess than the openings yet i still need to build up my
repertoire and that's going to take up 3/4 openings not every one.
Hopefully i've explained the problem well enough and i hope either chessbase or
Some other software will do the "hard" work.
