Subject: Ranking of strength of chess programs for Macintosh

Based on various postings and web sites I've read, I believe that the following
may be the correct ranking, strongest first, of the top six chess programs for a
Power Macintosh running OS 8.x or OS 9.x:

1. Hiarcs 7

2. ChessMaster 6000

3. Sigma Chess

4. Crafty

5. MacChess

6. Screamer

(This list omits older versions of these programs, such as Hiarcs 6 and
ChessMaster 4000/5000.)
