Hi Mark: Well, it was more a joke that a fact statement. This is, indeed, a dead issue, although some people love to try from time to time a miracoulous resucitation. Anyway, you are right there are people closed to accept the new facts. I guess there is some psychological factor here. Let me explain myself: if you are, say, a jazz guitarrist and after many troubles you cannot get to be so good as the best two or three, there is a chance you will stuck yourself in one of the following paths: a) To say obstinately that, after all, no one of those top players is so good as a guy that passed away 30 years ago. b) You begin to consider all kind of jazz guitar playing as unworthy the trouble.
