The idea you describe is certainly interesting. It will not help though in the average bitboard implementation, since in the average bitboard implementation MakeMove and Eval is slower than MoveGen AFAIK. But using some of the criterias to improve move ordering will get better results than the standart crafty like history table and killer moves. Georg
