If you see the times of Fritz, Tiger and Junior, and if one knows their typical
search depthes, I think it is clear, that they also do wrong prunging (otherwise
they should see the Q). No doubt, that they do more clever/aggressive pruning
than many amateurs. That they do never discard fail highs, once seen, does not
say too much, IMO. I gave a possible explaination, and can think of others.
