Subject: low power chip can be a chess computer or a chess clock!

I don't know how many of you are familiar with the chip used in Excalibur's LCD
Handheld chess computer, but it turns out that same chip is used in the updated
GameTime II chess clock. Of course, the firmware (programming) is totally
different!

One of the design goals for the updated timer was to produce a clock with much
longer battery life than that in the original GameTime unit. With a battery
life of around 500 hours (using 4 AA batteries), I'd say they have accomplished
that goal!

You can read my review of Excalibur's GameTime II clock by clicking on:

All in all, it's a nice chess clock. Were the plunger mechanism a bit quieter,
I'd consider this a truly "killer product".
