I've been away... and this amazingly long F5=GM thread has developed. I checked the calendar! No, April is past. Let me first say I think F5 is very strong. It may even be the best micro program out there right now. But a GM..... :-( At time-scramble 1 0 or similar, which is fun but more mouse-dynamics than chess, I would imagine F5 is a GM. But a mouse-GM, not a chess-GM. To be a GM at *chess*, instant positional judgement is 100% necessary. On this front, I feel many (including CG3/5 and R9) are ahead of F5. Is DB2 a GM - now that is a question. Probably yes. Now, I know it beat GK... but still only "probably"... Kind regards fca
