I was taking an upperbound figure to illustrate the point that the rating point
improvement was not substantial in any case. The 30% figure I believe came from
someone who recently gave it as the difference it made for their specific chess
playing program (diep??). I don't know which version off GCC it applies to.

BTW, is that 10% figure you give a general figure or for some specific chess
playing program?
