Most chess programs run better on a K6 MHz vs Mhz,but not all, Fritz 5 is better
on a P II. I had the choice and chose the P II because of its better overall
performance in running games and other programs. If you just plan on running
chess programs then go for the K6 its cheaper and does run all programs well. So
you can't go wrong either way. If running rebel is not your only reason for
upgrading your computer, the P II 400 is the best choice right now. I love it.

I have heard of some lock ups from people who use the K6 chip. But not for the
new K6-3D chip. So if you want the K6 chip get the newer K6-3D.
