24...Bg4 1-0

In Smirin's game why would Shredder play this 24th move ??

Both Fritz7b and Junior7 feel that 24...Be6 +2.50 is best

They both feel 24...Bg4 is between +4.50 to +6.00

What gives ?  Shredder through away the Bishop !!  Although, in a losing
position.
