What scares me off the K6 in general is the quality of available socket 7 mainboards that support 100 Mhz SDRAMs. Check http://sysdoc.pair.com/ (Tom's hardware guide) for reviews; another review in the German c't magazine mentioned that the best of about 20 socket 7 boards they tested even failed to run a standard office application benchmark suite (Sysmark). Only my $.02 (and $750 for Intel which bought me my PII-400) ... Moritz
