It may be a win, but nothing simple about it.

I asked Smirin immediately after the game why not hxg4 instead, and he shrugged
and said it's also a draw. Not enough pawns left. Hiarcs was showing something
like -0.90, Junior something like -0.40.

In the post game analysis he went deep into it with the line 38... hxg4 39. hxg4
f4 40. Bb4 e4 and then 41. Ke2 and 41. fxe4 were analyzed. Several times he
ended with "and draw" which he took back after more thought, or after GM Avrukh
suggested some move.

In the end he did not have a definite conclusion. He said it's probably a draw
but he should have tried it.
