Many people use a Windows browser to read this group and other chess sites. Sometimes there are mate puzzles presented in EPD/FEN format. This powerful mate-solving program, Chest, is available free for the PC. My goal was just to make it easier to get the EPD/FEN string from the web page to Chest. The much more ambitious scenario you describe is probably an entirely different project and may require working with the source code of Chest, which I probably will NOT make time to do. Sorry...
