GM Smirin results will depend on how well he will be able to play with white. If
GM Smirin is able to play closed positions as in game 1 he may be able to win by
more. It is much harder to force a closed position with advantage with black.
The opening books of the programs is going to be key in this match. The deeper
and wider the book for the programs the better chance they will have in this
match.

I see this match as a battle of openings, and it is one the programmers can win,
but a human like GM Smirin has the advantage.

Tiger in my mind has the best chance of winning its 2 game match with GM Smirin.
It seems to be able to play well even if knocked out of theory early with a
closed position. Shredder seems helpless, Hiarcs is a unknown to me, Junior is a
question mark also. I have seen it play like Shredder in closed positions, but
the current version is an unknown.

It will be interesting to compare the results of the games played past move 10
while still in theory and those below that number.
