Hi Christophe, MIT is providing a site for the WCCC, and it is being sanctioned by the ICCA. If it happens (quite likely I believe) then it will probably be in November or early December. They are considering the possibility of combining this tournament with the WMCCC, which means it will not be a separate event. If you want to persue your idea of convincing the organizers to change the format of the micro section, then you need to talk to them. I am NOT one of organizers and am mainly just a contact for them on this end. The correct way to do this however is to be a member of the ICCA and attend their next meeting or at least get representation there. They will proably have a meeting at the event (of course it will be too late to get anything going by then) and you could lobby for support for this at the next one. If you want to push for this at THIS tournament, you should talk to them personally and as soon as possible. I don't think your odds are good because they probably have an active working definition but who knows? Maybe you still have a chance. One suggestion is to get as many ICCA "signatures" as possible together with a proposal and present the officers with it. If they see you have substantial support this is bound to carry some weight. But I want to tell you in advance that they will not see this as anything new. The definition of a micro is debated at every meeting I've attended and a lot of proposals get bounced around. Once in a while the definition changes. I think at one point many years ago it was defined by "weight" and perhaps another time by power consumed. Bob Hyatt probably knows more about the details and history of this than I do. You should get this going as soon as possible however. The organizers will be trying to get a bunch of machines together for the event as they always do and will need to know if they are getting ones that are too fast. One point I want to be sure to mention, is that I am not speaking on behalf of them in this post, all of these suggestions and ideas are my own. (my disclaimer) - Don
