Please do not misunderstand me. GM Smirin is a Great player, one to be admired. However I am not all that impressed by his win against Shredder, it appears to Me that he basically copied the Van Wely Fritz6 game of 2000. The two games are almost identical. Many here seem to believe that Smirin will wipe out the computers based on this one game. Actually the same doubts existed during the Century3 Van der Weil match, after Van der Weil won a game, everyone seemed to suddenly lose faith in the machines, Rebel ended up winning the match 4-2. I perdict that this match will follow the same pattern. The computers are going to come back and win the Match. I remember also the Polgar VS Fritz match of a few years back, at the start of the match there was three draws and I believed that Polgar was equal with fritz, but then the tables turned and she started to lose a bunch of games, fritz in the end made Judit a Palzer!
