Almost all platforms have Tcl and a goodly part have Tk too. And the same code would most probaply run happily on most platforms. There are other lingos out there that are very portable and interface to Tk. Ruby springs to mind. But Tcl was made to glue applications together and excels at that. It's almost as nice as Forth.
