Hi Jorge, two foreigners trying to debate in English :). Thread in Peter's tongue: Deep Blue sucks - Vincent Diepeveen It searches 3 ply on average. Re: Deep Blue sucks - Robert Hyatt No. That is 9 ply - 3(6), that's the same as 9 plies. Re: Deep Blue sucks - Uri Blass Ply and plies isn't the same thing. Re: Deep Blue sucks - Tom Kerrigan If 3(6) is the same as 9 ply that would mean that the upper registers registered lowly. Re: Deep Blue sucks - Bob Hyatt Been there, done that. The plies were searched more thoroughly in former times, also on a Cray 9 ply is the same as 10 ply. This is a thread ( Peter trying the new moderator team ;) ) . I think what you understood is threat ( you wishing me bad ) but I have no dictionary handy and I am uncertain if I got this spelling thing right. No - I just wondered: if I am the only one who can answer your post ( To: Peter Berger) where noone can know the current results of the match on my computers, why not send email instead ? No offense at all ; in fact I really admire your passion for computerchess very much ! I think this new idea for a "little computer"- newsletter is a cool thing btw - good luck for the team! Peter
