Of course capablanca will be beaten by kramnik when kramnik gives a simultaneously exhibition against a bunch of such players, but let's be realistic: in athletics they compare records which were run at 100 meters sprint out of 1980 with today too when showing a chart how the speed progressed. Ratings work a bit different than this (someone from 2600 now is way better than someone 2600 from 20 years ago), but still it's comparable.
