I see that not only has Mr Schroder got things wrong, but so have FIDE, the Governing Body for World Chess! :-)) In their official list at http://www.chessweb.com pointed to by http://www.fide.com they make exactly the same error as Mr Schroder! They too believe Anand is #2, not #4. Please write to them marking matters for the attention of Kirsan N. Iljumzhinov, whom I understand may oversee certain clerical functions there, and bring this serious error to their attention, giving the logic you have used... If their reply could be posted somewhere I for one would take the time to read it. Kind regards fca PS: You may have to explain to FIDE, among other *many* things, why the following is wrong: "The results for Karpov v Anand has already been used in arriving at the ratings of those players. To use it again would constitute double-counting."
