I'm about to get a Pentium 4 1.6 GHZ w/256 ram...Windows 2000 PRO etc... I might be ignorant, but does the Athlon come with Windows 2000 Pro? In actually which CPU IS BETTER? I'm racking my brains on this and I shouldn't. Also do I require 32 MB Video Ram CARD?, a 56 CD ROM??? i WAS HAPPY WITH MY INTEL PENTIUM 100 MHZ but I require more speed/RAM utilizing Chesbase 7/Chess Assistant 6.1, Fritz 6, Shredder 6...etc. I probably am making too much of this but thei is what I had offered: 936.00 1.6 GHZ Pentium 4 256 RAM...I'd rather have 512 an extra 80.00 floppy drive CD Re-writer 56 56 MB cd rom 32 MB vidie card sound speakers network CD 40 gig HD keyboard mouse/logitech Windows 2000 Pro a monitor would be new 155.00 new/ refurbished 100.00 an I get away with the 56 CD ROM & Network CD...WOULD BE 67.00 OFF REMEMBER i GET NO MODEM BUT CAN AT A LATER DATE. I WOULD RATHER NOT, TOO ADDICTING TO BE ON THE INTERNET bASICALLY: i'M JUST LOOKING FOR MY PROGRAMS TO RUN, TO ANALYZE CHESS GAMES AND DO WORD PROCESSING WITH mICROSIFT WOD FOR MY CHES CLU. wHY AM i STARTING TOLOOK AT THESE aTHLON MACHINES? aM i CRAZY.......pLEASE EXCUSE ALL THE TYPOS W/ CAPS...i'M GOING STIR CRAZY ON THIS COMPUTER TODAY...PROBABLY because I'm a physical therapist and taking care of my mom who has Alzheimers 24 hours a day and trying to train for an bodybuilding contest 6 months from now, of which I won 2 yrs. age.
