Another idea might be to extend when you find the first repetition of a position. That way once the position had been repeated once, you would extend and look for a final repitition for maybe 2 or 3 ply. You could also try some kind of extention when the king has no legal moves, or when the king's only legal move is to the square he just came from. There are lots of ideas. Most probably wouldn't work or would cause the search to blow up, but there are plenty of ideas to play around with. Russell
