No. Actually the processor is not the most consuming device in the handheld.
Don't forget that in a handheld you also have a screen, a backlight screen, a
digitizer, dynamic RAM and serial/USB chips to power. Not just a processor.
Increase processor consumption by two and you will increase the handheld's
global power consumption by maybe 20 or 25%.
Actually I don't think that the processor's power consumption grows linearly
with it clock frequency.
My Palm runs at twice its default speed, and I have noticed a very slight
decrease in battery life. Maybe 5 to 10%.
It's really nothing compared to the benefits of a faster Palm.
