Since it died Maxtor is kind enough to warranty it and send me a ne >one. First, you need to go to a recent 2.4 kernel. 2.4.18 is running on all my machines here... That might get your ata100 working. If not, I'd ignore it and keep going with the ata33 built-in controller you have...
