I still don't understand why Chessbase only used a dual 1Ghz system against a player of the caliber of GM Smirin? We all know that there are system twice as much powerful for a Dual MP. Was the whole concept just to show us that todays's P.C. programs are rated around 2700, even for programs that use a single processor, and then again they should have used a more powerful single processor such as the AMD XP 2100+. Another analogy that I would like to discuss is, why do we need Deep Programs, if we can get GM performance out of single processor programs, and they are even performing better than the Deep Programs against GM Gulko and GM Smirin.
