You have a 3x3 chessboard as follows: White's king is on c2. White has pawns on a2, a3, and b3. White has a queen on c3. White has a rook on c1. White has bishops on b1 and b2. Square a1 is empty. White makes consectutive moves with the goal of getting his king to a1 in as few moves as possible, with the following constraints: 1) White must NEVER move the king to b2. 2) No pawn or piece can leave the 3x3 chessboard (i.e., the pawns cannot move at all). What's the shortest solution? [Adapted from H.E. Dedeney 1922.]
