Subject: Linux problems: Any ideas? (OT)

If you read my earlier post you know that I am setting up a Linux box, and I
have had problem after problem. Mostly with Intel, but that's another story.
;)

Problem now:

I don't want an extra monitor, keyboard, etc., so I am just setting up this box,
and am going to telnet into it when I need to use it.

However, the telnet program I am using wants to use scoansi for emulation.
Pretty simple, eh? Whenever I type 'TERM=scoansi' it core dumps and I am
brought back to a login. If I type 'TERM=ansi' or 'TERM=vt100' everything is
fine. Seems the problem is with scoansi.

I e-mailed RH today (using RH 7.1 SMP) and haven't heard anything back from
them. I am guessing I will not hear anything until Monday, so I thought I'd ask
here and shave some time. Thanks!

**INTEL UPDATE**
I flashed the bios to that RAID controller today, and RH 7.2 still wouldn't
install. I got SO frustrated, I called Intel, gave 'em a CC number. Guess
what?! The SBC2 mobo I am using will NOT work with RH 7.2. It's not the damn
RAID card, it's the mobo! And since I didn't pay for my "advice" the first
call, my $25 is non-refundable, since it's a new problem. (The first lady I
spoke with KNEW what mobo I was using, just simply forgot to tell me it wouldn't
work.)
