Have you done any additional changes (configuration)?
What kernel?
What is your default shell (on the linux box)?

The support is a bitch with all OS. The most problems I've had was with Window$,
but Solaris is just about as bad.
With Linux, just like with Window$, you should only use compatible hardware
(HCL) or something like that ... otherwise you pay through the nose, until
someone, somewhere fixes it for free! ;-)
In this regard Solaris is even worse, cause it has problems (sometimes) with
Sun's own hardware.

I have two linux servers runing as compile farms (headless) with a bunch of
people using them daily. No problems of any sort ... uptime = 65 days and 73
days, load average: 1.20 1.09 1.02.

Cheers,
hristo
