I don't think so, since Smirin himself was admitting the lose position and moreover he didn't complaint at all about "distracting" problems to my knowledge , neither Friedel never mentioned about complaint on GM side. I only noticed that a major connection problem happened at the ending when he was already in zugzwang and moreover his position was definitely lost. w.b.r.
