Stuart, The purpose of the games was not to find the definitive strength of Hiarcs 8 - it was to simply to play some fun games and see what came out. I realised that I received Hiarcs 8 sooner than expected so I posted the games mainly for people, like Tina, who are waiting for Hiarcs in the mail. Hence my choice of opponent - GT 2 is only 6 ELO behind CT14, which is easily within the bounds of error, and has a fun and aggressive playing style. As regards the result - it shows that Hiarcs is in the ballpark of the some of the best engine. The other results by Chris Taylor are using only a few games (8 games) which statistically is much smaller than 30. Regards, Steve
