In any case I don't believe software piracy is "theft", but another kind of crime. It is wiser to respect current law. If you think the law is uncorrect, you should try to change it, but respecting it meanwhile. Some people could also say, for instance, that in the future, killing black people will be considered ethical, so why not start today?. That's why it is dangerous.
