Subject: Publicity for apps & Smirin may lead to more GM-PC matches?

Watching the games between Smirin & the computers has been great fun. But after
Wednesday's make-up game, it will end.

Perhaps all the publicity generated, both for the programs and for Smirin, will
serve as motivation for far more such matches in the near future.

It would be great to have such a match, using a different GM each time, say
every month from now to eternity. We spectators would benefit. The GMs would
get a little money and a lot of publicity. The programs would get publicity.
Chess would benefit in general. It can lead to more players and more buyers of
programs. (And, IMO, it would also speed up the rate at which GMs learn to play
computers better.)

Maybe the top 5 or 10 GMs don't need the extra publicity, but I'll bet many of
the next 50 would likely welcome it.

Monthly matches forever!
