My iPAQ would not power on today (even though it had a full charge) so I did a soft reset. All the data and programs that I had on the unit were gone. No problem, I thought, I'll just do a "sync" and, like the Palm, that will restore everything (after all, I sync the thing every day). Wait, you mean doing a backup is a SEPARATE task from doing the normal daily sync? OOPS! I guess I was so accustomed to the automatic backup (and restore) feature of the Palm that I forgot that with the iPAQ you must manually do a backup to the PC. (Or am I mistaken about this?) Anyway, the backup.stg file on my PC is from October, so I'm guessing that's when I last did a backup. My mistake! Now, is there any way for me to restore the iPAQ to its status from my last sync (i.e., yesterday)? (Also, what have my daily syncs been doing for me? Something seems to be happening each time I add an app to the iPAQ, so there must be some sort of backup, right?)
