Thanks Chris.  That's what I was afraid of.  Luckily, I don't use the iPAQ for
contacts and the like (I use my Sony Clie for that).  But I have installed
numerous apps and customized the iPAQ, plus stored a bunch of chess games (pgn
files).  I wrongly assumed that the syncing would be backing that sort of thing
up like it does on the Palm.  I've certainly learned my lesson!
