I definitely understand your concern, just want to provide a slightly different view which should be perfectly legal and valid also. I never hacked any book format or would even be able to do that, also haven't spent much time with any Rebel opening book anyway. I have prepared the book for an amateur program in cct-3 and cct-4 internet tournament though, which though not an official event should behave in a somehow similar way to official tournaments I assume. Part of the job is playing matches against the programs that have good or even great opening books , then making decisions how to deal with them. Just had a brief look at my desktop and saw a file "KureCaro.txt" at first sight which reads Caro Kann Advanced with Alexander Kure 1. e4 c6 2. d4 d5 3. e5 Lf5 4. Sf3 e6 5. Le2 c5 6. Le3 ! Sxc4 None of that would go into any opening book created by me directly but I leave it to you to decide how this file even made it onto the desktop of my computer ;). If someone really stole your book you have all my support , but it wouldn't surprise me at all if real competitors had special variations up their sleeves against Rebel pet variations without doing anything bad at all and would think of that as _extremely_ similar to GM competition in fact.
