Not to mention the work of much other theoreticans Who by the way did copyright their work! Just pointing to most of the comercial openingsbooks Rebel, Fritz, Junior,Tiger an so on I am not a lawman but I know a bit how copyright works You have to make a precise description of what of the work you created made it unique from the rest. And this many times can be a hard job. Especialy if someone else came up with the idea to copyright it before you did Like some chesspublishers did with my work. But I still know how to copyright my work because they left enough space open. I think it is also more simple then the copyright of an openingsbook for a chessprogram.(If I insert the moves from the testgames from the top of the SSDF list in a book it is likely that some of the special moves from your book will come in that book, which is nothing but a legal action!) Then again that you did not fully work out analyses gives it a better chance But I would simply again make a special openingsbook of positions which Rebel or Tiger like above the rest like the Tiger book was ment to be. And after the position is clear for Rebel or Tiger Instead of a theoretical openingsbook Leaving the option of copying the openingsbook useles I also think I can help you with that At the moment I am building an openingsbook which starts with Tal's reportoir Which I build up to the present theory. I also have done this with several other World champions in the past. Building up books from scratch in this way is much work But I am not lazy which most of you will know. We also live in a country which registers the most copyrights ! So that again should give you hope. Hoping for suport from a chess federation will not realy work I think Because they are just as knowlegeable as the comon people when it comes to copyrights. I know that the Rebel openings book already has a build in safety because I tried to import it in diferent versions from Shredder changing the encryption with the same program will not realy help against the people who cracked it before. Maybe other encryption software might help. Hehe then again they should send the upcoming internetpolice to my house for their exames. Regards Marc
