Crafty 18.11 - Mike 256MB, POWER.ctg, X 1.d4 Nf6 2.c4 e6 3.g3 Nc6 4.Nf3 b6 5.Bg2 Bb7 6.Nc3 Bb4 7.0-0 Bxc3 8.bxc3 0-0 9.Nd2 d5 10.cxd5 exd5 11.Re1 Re8 12.e4 dxe4 13.Nxe4 Nxe4 14.Bxe4 Rb8 15.Qg4 Na5 16.Bg5 Qd6 17.Bf4 Qd8 18.Bxb7 Rxb7 19.Bg5 f6 20.Bxf6 Rxe1+ 21.Rxe1 Qxf6 22.Qc8+ Kf7 23.Qe8# 1-0 Crafty and Nalimov under the Fritz 7b GUI found mate in #7 at move 21. However, Crafty did not move instantaneously, it took up to 1 minute of more to move! The last move 23.Qe8 took an unbelievable 1:31 to mate, when the evaluation was showing mate in 1. Why is this ? One would think if Nalimov and the evaluation see mate in a certain amount of moves they would just move them instaneouly.... Comments welcome. Regards,
