Actually, FIDE has make two classifications. Less than or equal to 25min/G is rapid and greater than G/25 is long. They do say that 40/90 + 30min is standard, but tournaments can vary that. The old 40/2 and 40/2.5 are gone and I suspect that the time will get faster in the future. This is not an endorsement, just a clarification.
