Hi Jeroem: Perhaps the program considered that it was "positionally" preferable that, after the exchange, the rook stayed in the 8ª file instead of the 7ª, where the white king is. That gives white a bigger nuumber of legal moves because he can move the g pawn at oce if he dim good to do so. But, of course, who can know what is going on in the mind of a silicon mind...
