I should add that false draw scores *do* happen of course, but not for the reasons you have alluded to it seems to me. They occur due to insufficient depth. A move that is good is thereby rejected as bad and a draw score is preferred instead. However, this goes with the territory when alpha-beta is used. This can happen with any score and not just draw scores of course.
