The Rebel book as a hole is something you can defend some lines from the book is something you can not defend Like I already told before by building a book from the SSDF you get these lines in a legal way! You only have to do much work to analyse if these positions where bad from the start or not. By only inserting the moves you will not get the corect vieuw if the book lines where good or not (But it can help you on your way to build a reasonable openingsbook) Especialy if they where rarely played. So for this you already need some expierince in analysing positions. Buying an openingsbook and just inserting the moves might be dangerous though because they have to be carefuly checked on faults and how the continuation should be if oponent x plays a move which is not mentioned in that book Otherwise there is a change that all the work of inserting your moves might not help the program. About analyses it depends of the qualety of them if you have to do much work or not. But you have to be a keen analyser (Kasparov mentioned keen analyzer and analyzer with some chessknowlege in his post about combinations) To find that out! Regards Marc van Hal
